The luau and cocktail party to benefit Colorado Moves to End Cancer is happening on Saturday night (August 29, 2015).

For non-members of Miramont fitness, sports and recreation facilities, this is a great chance to check the place out, while helping a great charity.

Besides, it's a luau, and I'm the DJ.

Great times will be had on the spacious deck of the pool at the Miramont South.

Colorado Moves to End Cancer raises funds that help University of Colorado Health Cancer Center in Northern Colorado as well as other efforts and stems from a fundraiser that Miramont members were inspired to create in memory of a tennis player that died from non-smoking lung cancer, Chris Burge.

The Chris Burge Tennis Classic started years ago, and since then, non-tennis members of Miramont, and the community in general, have been encouraged to participate as they expanded the fundraiser to other fitness events and gave the overall effort a new name—Colorado Moves to End Cancer.

“Our goal with Colorado Moves to End Cancer is to take time to honor those who fought, celebrate those who won and raise awareness about cancer in Colorado,” said Miramont Owner Cliff Buchholz. “The cocktail party is one way we engage the Miramont community and beyond to give back and support the fight against cancer.”

There are yoga events, spinning events and more throughout the year that raise money, awareness, and spread love throughout Northern Colorado and beyond.

The Colorado Moves to End Cancer events are open to members and non-members of Miramont, as is the luau this weekend.
