The program is intitally expected to last three years. High school eSports will be sanctioned much like other high school sports that include basketball or football. The mission to bring gaming as a sport to schools is to get the students who might not be involved in other school activities and sports more engaged with the schools and communities. Under CHSAA, the eSports program would be competitive, co-ed and no classifications. Additionally, since the matches will be held online, there will be no travel costs.
