Colorado Governor Says Weld County Farmers Can’t Use Ground Water During Drought
The state issued a statement on Tuesday saying that farmers around Greeley and Weld County cannot use existing wells for water as they face drought this season.
Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, shared some bad news for farmers Tuesday morning.
Hickenlooper’s office issued a memo that, based on an analysis of state law by the Attorney General’s Office, he does not have the authority to issue such an order as the Weld County Board of Commissioners, at the farmers’ behest, had requested.
