The City of Fort Collins is pitching in to make sure that we know there are many things that we can do to benefit ourselves and the environment that surrounds us. These range from where we buy our produce to whether or not some of our energy comes from the wind. The list of what we can do is endless, but that list always starts with education. What you do for yourself and your environment is important. Why you do it may be more important. Are you doing things because you 'heard' they are the best things to do, or you 'think' they are the best things to do? Well, real discussion is happening with the City of Fort Collins and experts that they bring in to help us with our decisions. The Mindful Movies and More program is designed to stimulate thought, encourage discussion and influence behavior.

I spoke with Rosemarie Russo, Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Fort Collins and she explained how the Mindful Movies and More program is much more than movie screenings.

It's not just movie screenings. It's really helping citizens to rethink their choices and make connections. So, we look at anything from promoting renewal energy, to alternative transportation, environmental purchasing and local food.
