The City of Evans is imposing a curfew within the evacuated area east of Highway 85. The curfew  will be enforced from 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. daily to help keep the area secure.

HOW TO GET ACCESS TO THE AREA

Residents who live in the Evacuation Area and need access during curfew hours can obtain an authorization letter for access or to enter the area from the City of Evans Police Department by:

  •   visiting the Police Department Station at 1100 37th Street in Evans between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.,
  • at the checkpoint located at 37th Street and Pueblo Street,
  • at the checkpoint located at 37th Street and Trinidad Street.

Residents must be able to show proof of residency to receive the access authorization letter.

Emergency Ordinance No. 574-13, imposing a curfew within the area evacuated due to the September 2013 flood, was adopted by the Evans City Council during their regular meeting of September 17, 2013. This curfew designation may be removed at any time by the City of Evans and will automatically expire in 90 days.
