    National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

A must see for any college student! The Griswold family is back in this hilarious movie of Christmas gone wild. Clark Griswold wants nothing more than a quintessential “Griswold family Christmas,” but between crazy cousin Eddie parking his trailer in the driveway, and Aunt Edna wrapping up her cat as a present, Christmas cheer becomes Christmas catastrophe. The humor in this movie is sure to crack you and your friends up all night long.

    A Christmas Story

This one’s a classic—literally. It debuted in 1983 and is still making audiences laugh today. It’s a great one to watch at home with family. Your grandparents will adore the 1940s backdrop, and so will you. This story reminds everyone of their childhood Christmases, and wanting that one toy of all toys, in Ralphie’s case, a Red Ryder BB gun. Too bad everyone (even Santa) tells him he’ll shoot his eye out. See what happens in this nostalgic tale.

    Elf

It’s hard to go the whole month of December without watching this Will Ferrell film—it’s too cute! Buddy always knew something wasn’t quite right, growing up as a six-foot elf in the North Pole, so he ventures to New York City to reunite with his human family. Be sure to stick to the four main food groups during this one: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

We grew up with Dr. Seuss’ story, and now we can enjoy it on a whole new level. Jim Carey brings the bitter, Christmas-hating Grinch alive in the first Dr. Seuss book to ever be made into a feature film. It’s just right for college students, or anyone who’s ever asked, “Where are you, Christmas?”

    Christmas with the Kranks

Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis are empty nesters in this holiday comedy. Blair, their daughter, has left for the Peace Corps and the parents are left with their first Christmas without their baby girl. After calculating they spent $6,132 on Christmas last year they decide to skip the season altogether and take a cruise. Perfect! Except for a few things: their Christmas crazed neighbors aren’t about to let them get away with it, and oh yeah, Blair’s planning a surprise trip home—with her new Peruvian boyfriend. Based on John Grisham’s novel Skipping Christmas, this movie reminds us what we’re willing to do for the one’s we love.
