Here's a fun fact about Windsor: The original settlers were originally called 'Germans from Russia.' I met with a member of the Windsor-Severance Historical Society, who was a 'German from Russia,' and I asked her what on Earth that meant, and it was just as much a mystery to her. But, that's just a part of Windsor's cultural heritage. On Saturday, October 3, the Town of Windsor invites you to celebrate Heritage Fest.

Windsor has an eclectic history of settlement by Native Americans, French trappers, Hispanics and more. All of their contributions have built Windsor into the town it is today at 125 years old.

“We thought this event would also be a great way to further honor Windsor’s 125th anniversary this year,” said Andrew Dunehoo, Art and Heritage Manager for the Town of Windsor, and Heritage Fest organizer.

The festival, which will be held in Boardwalk Park at 100 N. 5th Street from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., will host ethnic food and drinks, historic building tours, and activities and demonstrations for the whole family.
