Summer winding down means a new wave of seasonal celebrations are here. Say goodbye to greasy, fried food, rodeos and carnival rides found at events during the summertime, and give a warm welcome to festivals filled with pumpkins, cider and all things fall.

On Saturday, October 3, the Northern Colorado community is invited to the Taste In Timnath, a FREE fall celebration, perfect for the whole family. The afternoon will include a wide variety of activities, as well as delicious autumn-themed foods and beverages. Town Manager, April Getchius explains, "We want the community to come out to Timnath to see how beautiful it is here in the fall. And, we want all the residents of Timnath to feel a sense of pride for our community."

Mayor Jill Grossman-Belisle will kick off the day at 11:30 a.m. by leading a one-mile family fun walk through Old Town Timnath. Following the walk, there will be complimentary appetizers complete with seasonal beer and wine pairings. The Union Gray Band will be providing musical entertainment throughout the afternoon.

Taking place in a town that's green and serene, the Taste In Timnath is an event highlighting what's known as the farm-to- table movement, referring to food and beverages that are either locally harvested or produced. Some of the mouthwatering options that festival-goers can look forward to will be the Bavarian potato pancakes served with Colorado Orchard's apple chutney, roasted Olathe corn salsa paired with local Nita Crisp crackers, and an Indian Pale Ale and wheat beer made right here in Northern Colorado. For those who still have room after all of the deliciousness ensues, Freddy's Frozen Custards will round out the food samplings by serving up complimentary desserts.

The kiddos can have tons of fun decorating pumpkins, getting their faces painted, jumping in the bouncy castle, touring a real fire engine and playing with cute animals in the petting zoo. Plus, the students of Bethke Elementary will be hosting an art show onsite for the community to observe and enjoy.
