Mark Cuban is the controversial owner of the Dallas Mavericks NBA basketball team (along with a bunch of other stuff including a chain of movie theaters and cable TV networks). Some people love him. A lot of people don’t. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t care one way or the other.

I was on a United Airlines flight a couple of weeks ago, reading the Hemispheres magazine that was wedged in the back of the seat between the Sky Mall catalog, a barf bag, and a pair of used airline headphones that Tony Robbins couldn’t have inspired me to put on. The crossword puzzle had already been conquered, so after looking at all the steakhouse and LCD projector ads I went with my final option; I read an article. It happened to be about Mark Cuban.

It was an interesting little story about Mr. Cuban, but what I took away from it was what is now my favorite quote. Mark said, “When I die, I want to come back as me.” When you read the article, you know he means it. How cool is that? Are you living your life like that? We all should be.

Just a little reminder that this life that you are currently experiencing is not a practice round. It’s likely the only one you’ll get. There will not be another yesterday. That one’s gone. How did you use the only 12/20/2011 you’ll ever see? Days are currency. Spend wisely.
