Senate Passes Plan to Help US Postal Service [POLL]

We have all heard the US Postal Service is in trouble. There are rumors of that many post offices across the country could be closed and there is a chance that Saturday mail service could be discontinued.

The US Senate passed a plan to help the struggling Postal Service and save thousands of jobs. Personally, I rarely use the mail, mostly just email and I receive almost all of my bills and other personal items via email, so I wouldn't miss Saturday mail delivery.

Town of Windsor Participating in National Drug Take Back Day

Windsor is taking part in National Drug Take Back Day April 28, 2012. The Windsor Police Department in a partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Windsor residents will be able to drop off unused or expired prescription drugs.

Town of Windsor Asked for Permission to Build an Explosive Devices Bunker

The Town of Windsor has received a request from an oilfield company to build a place to store explosives and radioactive materials near the Budweiser Events Center.

A Houston, TX company has applied for a town permit to build a small storage facility east of I-25 and north of Crossroads Blvd. The company uses explosive and radioactive materials to explore gas and oil deposits and map them.

Governor Hickenlooper Bans Colorado Prescribed Burns as Dry Conditions Continue

Gov. John Hickenlooper has suspended all Colorado prescribed burns in our state on Wednesday, after reviewing information from CSU, which oversees the Colorado State Forest Service. The Lower North Fork Fire burning south of Denver was determined to have been started by a prescribed burn that re-ignited days later has taken lives and destroyed homes.

Galuchie Fire Contained, Sheriff Urges Caution

The Galuchie Fire west of Loveland, near Storm Mountain, is now 100% contained after burning 14 acres according to the Forest Service. The Larimer County Sherriff’s Office is asking you to use extreme caution with any potential source of ignition, including campfires, slash pile burns, cigarette butts, exhaust systems in grassy areas and any other source that could potentially start a fire.

Windsor’s Green River Ordinance + Fun ‘No Soliciting’ Signs [PICTURES]

Have you ever noticed the "Green River Ordinance Strictly Enforced" sign as you approach Windsor from the west on Highway 392? That sign had me asking, "what is a Green River Ordinance?" Does it have to do with irrigating, keeping the rivers clean, keeping your lawn green? No, actually none of the above. The Green River Ordinance has to do with door-to-door soliciting.

I found some fun"No Soliciting" signs and did some research on the Green River Ordinance.
