Town of Windsor Closes Windsor Lake After Reports of Bacterial Infections
The Weld County Health Department is actively investigating reports of illnesses from individuals who swam at Windsor Lake recently. Because of this, the Town of Windsor has closed Windsor Lake until further notice.

The Windsor-Severance Fire Rescue team is practicing up this week and next week according to their Facebook Page. They are spending this week in Fort Collins training with the Poudre Fire Authority's Firefighters.

Their three-year-old daughter, their sweet little “Laney Bug,” Delaney Wadsworth left her once healthy, but now cancer stricken, painful body and passed on. Windsor, Colorado Firefighter Builds Sculpture to Honor Firefighters and Their Canine Companions
Austin Weishel, a twenty-two year old Volunteer Firefighter from Windsor-Severance Fire Rescue was in our Nation's Capital recently as he introduced a statue he built in his family's Colorado basement. The 17-foot high and 450 pound bronze sculpture of a firefighter and arson dog traveled 2,000 miles to be placed in Washington, DC where it will remain to honor firefighters and their canine companions.
Great Western Trail Between Windsor, Severance and Eaton Receives Grants
The Great Western Trail connecting Windsor, Severance and Eaton, has received just over $160,000 in grant money for construction work. The trail provides area residents with opportunities for non-motorized recreation such as walking, running, biking and cross-country skiing. Grant money will be used for three miles of trail improvements.
Greeley Clothing Store Holding Special Event to Help Windsor Girl Get a Life-Saving Transplant
On October 11, 2011, Addilyn Hawks of Windsor was diagnosed with PFIC-2 (Progressive Familial Intrahepatic Cholestasis Type-2), a rare genetic liver disease which causes liver failure. There is no cure for this terminal disease. Addilyn has severe cirrhosis or liver scarring, which results in poor liver function. The only way symptoms of this disease can be reversed is with liver transplant. Addilyn will need a new liver to save her life, and a Greeley clothing store for kids is trying to help, but it's very costly.
Volunteers in Fort Collins, Windsor, Loveland and Greeley, Colorado are raising funds for transplant patients like local baby, Addilyn.

When I was a kid I can remember my family always making the comment “I wish I had half as much energy as that kid.” I always got annoyed by it thinking that they were just lazy, and if they really wanted to they could get off the couch and run around in circles and bounce off the walls with me. Now that I have kids of my own I realize that their energy level really is through the roof and people weren’t kidding when they made those comments! I am always looking for creative ways to burn the kid’s energy, and this weekend it’s a no-brainer! Jr. JAM! The day where it’s fun to be a kid.
High Park Fire Update: June 12th, 9:30am
The High Park Fire has now consumed approximately 43,433 acres, and is still reported at 0% containment; though firefighters have been able to anchor the southwest corner of the fire, which is the first step in making a fire line. The evac shelter is still located at the Ranch at I-25 and Crossroads Blvd.
