When news broke that the Broncos decided to sever ties with Sports Authority due to the company's filing of bankruptcy, many were left wondering what the stadium in Denver would be renamed to. The signage and branding referring to “Sports Authority Field at Mile High” came down several months ago, but a new name for the stadium was not revealed at that time — mainly because events during the upcoming months were already tied to that name.

Although a long-term stadium sponsor still has yet to be found, this Wednesday, a new name was temporarily given to the venue, following a request from the team to the Metropolitan Football Stadium District board. Known now as Broncos Stadium at Mile High, the name change will stay in place until an actual sponsor receives naming rights. There will be some new signage going up that highlights the new name, but ultimately the stadium is seeking a long-term partner.
