A blast this evening around 7 PM has left hundreds injured outside Waco in the town of West Texas.  Up to 15 are dead including one police officer and five firefighters.


An anhydrous explosion at a fertilizer plant in West Texas that could be heard almost 60 miles away demolished numerous buildings, including a nursing home with 133 residents. An apartment building with at least 50 units was also completely destroyed.

Up to 15 fatalities are being reported as of this update including five firefighters and one police officer. 75-100 buildings and homes in the town of West Texas (near Waco) were on fire or have already been leveled including a nearby school that sits next to the plant and to make matters worse, the hospital is only 4 blocks away. As of this morning the fire was still burning, but was under control.

Last night evacuations throughout the town were ordered in fear of another nearby storage tank that may explode. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation and damage is being reported within a 5 mile radius.
