Wow! It's hard to believe that this recording is 34 years old! It's been one of my favorites since I discovered it a few years ago.

Recorded in London during the taping of Bing Crosby's annual television Christmas special, David and Bing sing together for the first and only time on The Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth. What brought about such an unlikely collaboration? Well, Bowie was a big fan of Bing's, but Bing had never heard of David Bowie. He just went along when his kids suggested Bowie for a duet with a younger singer.

Sadly, Bing passed away a month after this duet was recorded and never saw the television show air that year. The performance went on to be named by TV Guide as one of the top 25 musical performances of the century!
