Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest – Best Weekends to Visit Fort Collins

Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest in Fort Collins, Colorado is  August 15-17, 2014.

This free festival is a music lover's dream.

At NewWestFest, it's impossible to mosey very far without hearing another great musician coming from another stage. The performers are scattered through the heart of Old Town Fort Collins, with stages all around the library, near College Avenue, on Linden, Mountain and in Old Town Square. The city buzzes for three days in the heart of the summer, and if there's a better free festival out there, let me know, because I'd love to attend it.

The schedule is so big and there is so much going on that I end up just roaming from stage to stage. Last year, during that beautiful process, I walked up on the Austin Young Band (pictured above). This guy ripped like Stevie Ray Vaughn, and I didn't even know he was going to be there.

Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest is a free, three-day music festival held the third weekend in August each year in historic Old Town Fort Collins. Celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2014, Bohemian Nights will take place next August 15th, 16th and 17th. The 2014 lineup announcement will be made in early June.

In addition to the packed Colorado lineup, three internationally renowned headliners anchor main stage performances. The headliner announcement is made in June.

The Bohemian Nights Presents: Thursday Night Live series provides free summer concerts in Downtown Fort Collins at the Old Town Square Stage each Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Ten concerts will be held in 2014 starting June 5th and ending August 7th. The full lineup will be announced in May.

There are special singer songwriter tents, kids acts and a kids stage. Dancers and performers of many different types abound at Bohemian Nights.

Art at Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest

Art is everywhere during NewWestFest because the Bohemian Foundation supports the arts. The displays and booths offer the browser and the buyer with endless opportunity to bring back some beauty, whether it's to hang on your wall or keep in your memory.

NewWestFest is the biggest festival in Fort Collins.

Some Fort Collins festivals close down a street or two. The tentacles of NewWestFest turn a whole section of Old Town into a pedestrian and people watcher's paradise. There is a lot to see, hear, feel, touch, taste and experience.

The kids area features a stage with performers by or for the young ones. It's bordered by all sorts of fun inflatables, zip lines, and other festival favorites. The CSU Rams usually show up, sending athletes and cheerleaders to interact with the community.
