The body that was found in the Pattridge Park Open Space Area in Arvada on Wednesday night was "not intact" according to Westminster Police. This has lead to the lengthy process of positively identifying the body. There is still no word on whether or not the body has any connection to missing 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway. A positive ID is expected Friday.

Sources tell 9NEWS workers who typically pick up trash in that area found the body Wednesday.

Westminster Police and Arvada Police held a press conference Thursday afternoon, revealing they have notified Jessica's family about the dismemberment and how they are working as quickly as possible.

The FBI is also warning the public that whoever is responsible for Jessica's disappearance may strike again. Former FBI profiler Clint Van Zandt says the condition of the body, which was described by Westminster police spokesman Trevor Materasso as "not intact," indicates an experienced killer. "And if it is such a person who would do such a grisly act, it is someone who is fully capable of doing this again. And not withstanding investigators are racing against the clock to try to find the offender, before he or she might strike again," Van Zandt said.
