Bill Murray has been hired to lend his voice as Baloo in Walt Disney Pictures' 2015 live-action movie, 'The Jungle Book.' The film is based on the famous Rudyard Kipling novel.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Murray will be joining an all-star voice cast which already comprises of Christopher Walken as King Louie, Giancarlo Esposito as Akela, Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa, Idris Elba as Shere Khan and Ben Kingsley as Bagheera.

Each actor will be voicing a CGI-animated character that will interact with 10-year-old Neel Sethi, who has been cast as Mowgli.

Disney's 'The Jungle Book' won't be the studio's first attempt in adapting the novel. In 1967, Disney released an animated feature, which is perhaps the most famous adaptation of the book. The studio also previously adapted 'The Jungle Book' as a film in 1994, but was criticized for diverging away from the source material.

The new 'Jungle Book' film will open on Oct. 9, 2015 and will be helmed by 'Iron Man' and 'Iron Man 2' director Jon Favreau.
