Despite the news that Whitney Houston died as a result of an accidental drowning and that there was cocaine in her system, police say the report doesn’t raise issues to further expand their criminal investigation, reports the Los Angeles Times.

“Unless something changes in the final report, this investigation will end,” said Lt. Mark Rosen of the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Since the release of the coroner’s preliminary report, questions and accusations have been thrown regarding Houston’s death. Leolah Brown, sister of Houston’s ex-husband Bobby Brown, recently claimed that Ray J supplied the late pop icon with cocaine hours before she died. The R&B singer’s rep has vehemently denied Brown’s accusations, stating that Ray J was not even in town when Houston died.

So how did Houston get the cocaine and what really happened in the hotel suite before she passed away on Feb. 11? Investigators didn’t find any cocaine in Houston’s room but they did recover bottles of various medications including Xanax, Flexeril and Benadryl. According to the coroner, none of those prescription drugs played a role in her Houston’s demise.

Ultimately, we may never get the real answers behind Houston’s tragic death. We can only hope that the coroner’s report provides closure to the late singer’s friends and family. May Whitney Houston rest in eternal peace.
