Technology was advancing, but not too fast. The Brat Pack was too cute for words, and James Cameron was about to get awesome. The 80's was another Golden Age of Hollywood. We'll celebrate it with our Ultimate 80's Party, so we might as well prepare ourselves here. Here is my list of the Top 5 movies from the 80's.

5. The Breakfast Club

Don't be a neomaxiezoomdweebie. Everyone was represented. Jocks. Geeks. Stoners. Popular girls. Even the misunderstood had their spot. Loved the movie. Obsessed over the soundtrack. Was there ever a more perfectly placed song than Don't You Forget About Me? No, there wasn't. It's a scientific fact.

4. Back to the Future

The perfect mix of time machine and Michael J. Fox. It's scary to think of your mom as hot, but this film brought it to life. Nothing like a climax that requires split second timing. Although, it definitely made me want to skateboard while hanging on to a car. Featured band - Huey Lewis and the News

3. Raiders of the Lost Ark

Wait, history is cool? Only with Harrison Ford. Chicks dig archaeologists? Moreso when it is Harrison Ford. Sales of Stetsons soared. No rock music in this one, just the beauty of John Williams score.

2. The Terminator

Some believe that today's science fiction is tomorrow's reality. Gosh, I hope that's not true in this case. Time travel was a big theme in 80's film, as were the muscles of Arnold. No last name needed. This instant classic gave us a catchphrase that is still (sometimes unfortunately) being used. Do I even need to say it?

1. Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back

Top in the 80's? Maybe top movie of all time. What villains! What heroes! The very fate of the Universe hung in the balance. An ice world, complete with abominable snowman. Warp speed. Telekinesis. Light sabres. A beautiful Princess. And the first Personal Digital Assistants with personality. Thank you, George Lucas. Your imagination enhanced mine.
