I love fundamentals.

I'm not sure why, in my older age, I've developed such a fondness for the basics of the sports I like to play. Maybe it's because of a phrase I heard recently that I love.

I am not afraid of the 10,000 strikes you know that you have practiced one time. I am deathly afraid of the one strike you know that you have practiced 10,000 times.

Yeah, things can get a little fancy in Crossfit workouts. However, as you can see in the video, we also stuck to the basics. So much so that Justin introduced me to an exercise that is one of the first things that young gymnasts learn when they start the activity--hollow--performed at various times perfectly by these ladies in this video.

When we got into that, I knew that I was in the right place. I don't want to try to advance to higher levels if my strength, capability, ability and understanding of different disciplines is lacking.
