Avril Lavigne Defends Skrillex Hair

Avril Lavigne recently debuted a new, partially-shaved haircut, which had fans wondering if EDM star Skrillex inspired the new ‘do. Now the pop star is taking to Twitter to defend her latest style choice.

Although the words didn’t come from Lavigne directly, she did retweet a post by her hairstylist, Gabriel Panduro. “As an artist the evolution of transformation is evident!” he wrote. “It’s not our place to hold the artist back or judge……”

Lavigne hasn’t made any other comments about her hair, but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what she’s trying to say. The ‘What the Hell’ singer has always had her own sense of style, and she’s not changing her ways for anyone.

Lavigne isn’t the only star to have sported the half-shaved head look. Rihanna, Cassie, Willow Smith and Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon, have all taken clippers to their dome in the past. Of course, Skrillex has maintained the look for the longest, which is why Lavigne is being compared to the dubstep musicmaker.

The Canadian singer debuted her edgy new look in Paris, wearing a black leather jacket and black-and-white striped shirt. Lavigne is currently in the studio with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.
