The Weld County Coroner's Office announced today that the death of actress Amanda Peterson was the result of an accidental overdose with the use of a combination of multiple drugs. Morphine was one of the drugs that the autopsy report concluded.

The report went on to say that the effect of the morphine is what caused the respiratory failure that led to Peterson's death.

Peterson's body was found in her Greeley apartment on July 5th. Officials say that was two days after her death. She was 43 years old.

The Weld County Coroner went on to say that the variety of medication found in Peterson's body at the time of death included:

  • Anti-anxiety medication
  • Anti-psychotic medication
  • Opiates
  • Marijuana

The autopsy report states that one of the pain meds in her body was six times the appropriate level.

Peterson is well known for her role in the 1987 hit movie "Can't Buy Me Love" which also starred star actor Patrick Dempsey.
