Rockies Fall To Brewers 9-4, Try To Even Series Today

Colorado Rockies (7-7) left-hander Drew Pomerantz started the game by throwing four perfect innings, before the bottom began to fall out in the fifth, with Rockies pitchers giving up nine runs over the next three innings, leading the Milwaukee Brewers (7-8) to a 9-4 win. Rockies Road Trip Starts Tonight in Milwaukee

The Colorado Rockies (6-6) begin a six game road trip tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers (6-7) in Miller Park at 6:10 MT (TV: Root Sports).  Right-hander Jhoulys Chacin (0-1) is expected to take the mound for the Rockies, with right-hander Shaun Marcum scheduled to start for Milwaukee. Struggling Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki is expected to be back in the lineup after a night off on Wednesday.

49-year old left-hander Jamie Moyer became the oldest pitcher in major league history to earn a win last night, throwing seven innings en route to a Colorado Rockies (5-6) 5-3 win over the San Diego Padres (3-9). The Colorado Rockies (3-4) opened a three-game series against the defending division champions with a 7-6 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks (5-2) last night in Denver. Rockies Open Season with 5-3 Win at Houston

The Colorado Rockies opened the 2012 season with a 5-3 win at Minute Maid Park in Houston over the Astros. Houston took an early 1-0 lead, before the Rockies scored three in the third. The Astros tied it up in the fourth, but Colorado added one in the eighth to take the lead for good. Guthrie recorded the win. Betancourt chalked up a save. Game two of the new season is Saturday at 5pm MT (TV: Root Sports).

Warmer temperatures, high winds, and low relative humidities will combine to create high wildfire danger today across Northern Colorado. Any fires that start may spread quickly and be difficult to control through this evening. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning in effect through 8pm tonight.

The Colorado Rockies are set to open the 2012 season against the Astros tonight in Houston (5pm MT, Root Sports). Right-handed pitcher Jeremy Guthrie will get the opening-night start. After the three-game weekend series in Houston, the Rockies will make their way to Coors Field for the home opener against San Francisco on Monday (4/9) at 2:10pm.
