Jason Giambi’s pinch-hit, walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth, broke a 5-5 tie and lifted the Colorado Rockies (12-12) over the Los Angeles Dodgers (17-8) 8-5 yesterday afternoon in Denver. Giambi’s blast came after the Dodgers had tied the game in the top of the ninth. Colorado Rockies (11-12) starter Jhoulys Chacin gave up a career-high seven earned runs on 11 hits and four walks while pitching the Rockies into a 7-0 hole in just 4 2/3 innings last night in Denver.
