Colorado Unemployment Rate Falls to 8.3 Percent – Average Earnings Increase

More good news for Colorado’s economy. The latest unemployment numbers released today shows positive signs for Colorado, unemployment fell to 8.3%, and wages are up slightly. This decline in Colorado unemployment has been a trend since August.

But what is the message the Occupy groups are trying to send and what are they all about? I wanted to find out for myself so I stopped by the Occupy Fort Collins camp based at the corner of College Avenue and Maple Street in Old Town Fort Collins to ask them.

Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor Set to Participate in Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Northern Colorado communities including Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, Estes Park and others will be participating in Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on October 29th, 2011. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) launched this program on September 25 last year to help focus on the importance of proper disposal of medications sitting in family medicine cabinets. If medications are not properly disposed of it can lead to prescription drug abuse in teens and they can pollute our streams, lakes and water supply.

Hay Fire East of Windsor May Smolder for the Next Few Days – Smoke May Be Visible

A barn just east of Windsor caught fire early Wednesday morning and burned about 100 tons of hay according to TheDenverChannel.com. The Windsor-Severance Fire Department contacted us to say the hay may smolder over the next few days and that smoke may be visible in the Windsor area.
