Kama

Hello to all that partake in this biographical journey! My name is Kama. I am a wife and a mom as well as the midday voice on 99.9 The Point in Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming. My parents were some crazy hippies back in the day. I grew up in the Durango area (Bayfield) without electricity, a telephone, or cable, and I was home-schooled until 5th grade. But I always had radio. My dad was a local DJ and use to dedicate songs to his favorite daughter… There stemmed my love for the job. I’ve lived in Northern Colorado for 12 years and I love it here. I am a music fanatic, I love how music feels and what it does to my soul. I also love mint, black licorice, coffee, baking, travel shows, dirt roads, road trips, 5 Barrel beer (Odells), red wine, yellow tulips, my husband Anthony, my daughter Tula Rose and twin sons Theo and Teak, singing loudly in the sunshine, painting stuff, cooking, dancing, garlic, the color red, accessories and music!!! I like finding out how people become who they are, being outdoors and figuring out how to make extraordinary humans out of my kids.

Can You Guess the Most Popular Karaoke Songs? It’s National Karaoke Week [Video]

Karaoke is a funny thing.  I’ve stepped up to the karaoke stage a few times and never without a pretty good buzz. The first time I got up to sing, I took on Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time”.  My knees were literally knocking and that song seemed to go on forever.  My voice cracked and it was embarrassing.  But I felt I owed to all those contestants I had judged in so many karaoke contests throughout the years. By judging all those contests I got a real feeling for the over used karaoke songs that are so popular.
