The Green Bay Packers survived a mild scare to stay unbeaten, while the Miami Dolphins and St. Louis Rams remained winless thanks to two potential new stars in Denver and Dallas. Here is the recap of the week seven action in the NFL:
Denver 18 – Miami 15 (OT)
After Tim Tebow led the Broncos to 15 points in the final 2:44 of regulation to tie the game, Denver beat the Miami Dolphins 18-15 on Matt Prater’s 52-yard field goal in overtime. Ineffective in
As the 2011 NFL season creeps closer to its halfway point, at least four teams will make starting quarterback changes in time for the games of week seven. Meanwhile, other teams may soon consider coaching changes, since eight teams have one victory or less.
Darrelle Revis had two interceptions, including one he returned 100 yards for a touchdown, to lead the New York Jets past the Miami Dolphins, 24-6, on ‘Monday Night Football.’
Quarterback Mark Sanchez, who threw for one score and ran for another to lead the Jets offense, finished with 201 yards passing, highlighted by a 38-yard touchdown toss to Santonio Holmes with 11:50 left in the fourth quarter to seal the home victory for New York (3-3).
Two head coaches fought, while another was injured during a game, as week six of the 2011 NFL season left just the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers as the lone unbeaten team in the league.
It was a record-setting week for several players, and the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions are the only remaining unbeaten teams after week four of the NFL’s 2011 season. Here’s a recap of all the action:
Green Bay 49 – Denver 23
Aaron Rodgers threw for a career-high 408 yards, four touchdown passes and added two rushing scores, as the Green Bay Packers trounced the Denver Broncos 49-23. The Packers led 21-3
The 2011 NFL season has been unpredictable thus far. After three weeks, a team that missed the playoffs in 2010 is at the top, or tied for the lead, in every division in both the AFC and NFC. Week Four brings new tests for the three undefeated teams in Detroit, Buffalo and Green Bay and new opportunities for those squads looking for their first wins.
Rookie kicker Dan Bailey kicked a 40-yard field goal, his sixth of the game, with 1:47 left to lift the Dallas Cowboys to an 18-16 victory over the Washington Redskins at Cowboys Stadium on Monday Night.
The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions each used a game-winning field goal to improve to 3-0, while the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers remained undefeated by thumping a divisional foe in week three NFL action.
