Appreciating ‘Girl Time’ – Susan’s Blog [PICTURES]
It’s only a week into Breast Cancer Awareness Month and can’t remember
a time when the women in my life were any more precious to me. We
wear pink, we gather to raise funds, we walk and run in pink boas, and
we hold kind thoughts for our ‘sisters’ AND brothers battling cancer.
My husband and I joined friends/co-workers Saturday night for the Hearts
and Horses Gala. It was the first time Cyndy had been out in many months.
She looked beautiful in a terrific outfit that included a wig. She’s beating cancer
and we celebrated with her, so happy to ‘have her back’. She and Josh have
2 young children and we all said our prayers of thanks.
Yesterday my friend Kiitty and I took our horses to Wellington to sort cows
and soak up a beautiful Colorado fall day. We are healthy (horses, too) and
exceedingly grateful for it. We know we’re the lucky ones. We also know that if
cancer were to invade us, we have an amazing network to count on. We promised
each other to get mammograms so we can grow old on our horses.
My goal is to still be riding Lily-my best (Arabian Mare) friend EVER- when our combined ages equal 100. She’s 20 and I’m not telling
Thank you MIKE CLINEBELL for these pictures!
