Twice a year we all remember to adjust our clocks to "spring forward" or "fall back." We alter our sleep schedules, and learn to deal with the fact that it gets dark just about an hour after lunch time. Okay, so that's a bit of an exaggeration, but for some people out there, the time change really does have an impact on their daily routines. So much so, that one Denver family is petitioning to add a proposal to the November 2016 ballot to keep Colorado on Mountain Daylight Time permanently.

Sean Johnson, out of Lakewood, argues that the time change negatively effects his career, as well as the daily schedules of his wife and three children. They find it difficult to adjust with the sudden change. If Colorado were to stay on Mountain Daylight Time for good, Johnson believes that businesses would benefit, and the community would be better overall. Plus, during the winter time, it would still stay light out instead of getting dark so early.

Several legal steps would have to take place first, in addition to gathering over 80,000 signatures before this issue could even find a place on the 2016 ballot, but it is definitely something to think about. The Johnson's have a plan to collect signatures from area grocery stores if the legalities were to work out in their favor. Currently, Arizona (most of it) and Hawaii are the only two states who do not participate in the bi-annual changing of the clocks.

Does the time change effect you negatively, or are you used to it by now?
