Casey Abrams can now call Paul McCartney “labelmate.” The hirsute sixth-place finisher in last year’s ‘American Idol’ competition has inked a deal with Concord Music Group, which is home to former Beatle McCartney as well as Carole King and Rush.

Abrams announced the signing with a cute original song all about the deal. “I got signed yesterday,” he sings in the upbeat, acoustic tune. “Yes, I’m kind of a little scared but that’s OK / Here we go, let’s start the show / And hopefully my fan base will grow.”

Abrams plays (or pretends to play) upright bass, ukelele and accordion in the lighthearted clip. He continues, “I’m gonna make you music that you can’t get out of your head / For those lonely days when you can’t get out of your bed.”

We’ll have to wait and see what styles of music his album features, but he promises, “I think it will be pretty good / I won’t make it too Hollywood.” Abrams performed a number of different genres during his ‘Idol’ run and last month released a cover of ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ with Haley Reinhart.

Casey is the sixth member of Season 10 to earn a record deal, following winner Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Reinhart, Pia Toscano, and James Durbin.
