'American Idol' broke social media records last night. The two hour season premiere on Wednesday night had a lot of fans talking about the show online. 'Idol' had over 518,000 comments on social media sites related to the iconic show during its 11th season premiere as the talent-seeking show traveled to Savannah, Georgia for auditions. 

According to Forbes.com and BluefinLabs.com, there were 518,000 comments on social media sites about American Idol. That's over 100,000 comments more than the previous social TV record. SocialGuide.com measures social activity for every television program across over 211 of the most popular channels, and American Idol came in first last night with over 25% of all TV talk.
