The Fort Collins SWAT team was called in to deal with a hostage situation in Fort Collins on Monday afternoon.

According to the Coloradoan, a neighbor on the 800 block of Tyler Street reported a domestic disturbance after hearing screaming and seeing a woman being dragged into a house.  Police discovered an infant and a toddler were also being held in the house against their will.

Police used a flashbang to disorient the suspect, at which time the woman escaped with her infant.  Police rescued the toddler and arrested the male suspect shortly thereafter.

In short, all three hostages are safe.  Thank goodness!

Police say the man has a criminal history that includes domestic violence and assault.

So if you were on West Plum Street or Orchard Place during that time, and wondering why the roads were blocked off, now you know!
