Some good and bad news for Adele fans. We’ll start with the bad news: The soulful siren has cancelled all of her remaining 2011 performances to undergo throat surgery.

According to her website, Adele’s doctors have ordered her to rest her voice and cancel any commitments until she is completely recovered.

The ‘Someone Like You‘ singer has been plagued with health issues recently, including laryngitis, a vocal chord hemorrhage and a chest infection, leading her to cancel her respective U.K. and U.S. tours. Many speculated that her infamous — and now former — smoking habit was at least partially behind her maladies, but Adele denied it, claiming that her health issues are from talking too much.

And now for the good news: Adele is expected to make a full recovery. In the meantime, fans can still get the experience of hearing and seeing the chanteuse perform when her live DVD/CD package is released Nov. 29.

The combination of a healed throat and a kicked smoking habit can only improve Adele’s already amazing voice. Here’s wishing her a speedy recovery — and that she uses some of her downtime to write some more hit songs.
