We love Joan Rivers when she's funny. She's a comic legend and pulls no punches. But her recent stint on 'The Late Show With David Letterman' was trite and full of fat jokes about Adele, who is pretty universally loved.

As a result, that didn't sit well with a lot of people.

Sitting across from the adorably gap-toothed funnyman, Rivers chatted about the Oscars. “I met Adele," and extended her arms to mock the chanteuse’s width. “What’s her song? ‘Rolling in the Deep?’ She should add ‘fried chicken.’”

She added, “We got along, and she kept saying she was very scared, ’cause she sang at the awards, and she kept saying, ‘My throat, my throat, I don’t know if I can swallow!’” At which point Rivers held up her arms again and croaked, “Oh honey, you can swallow. No question!”

Aussie comedian Adam Hills had a real issue with Rivers' comments. He played a clip on his show, 'Last Leg,' of the surgically-enhanced queen of sass, and totally ripped into her. We'd say more, but we'd have to bleep most of it out. Watch the clip above and let us know if he didn't say exactly what most of you were thinking.

We expect more from Rivers. She's indeed 'A Piece of Work,' but this work wasn't her best.
