The White House has 132 rooms on the inside. For the holiday season this year, they decorated a dozen of them. Imagine what a hassle it is for you to decorated just one or two rooms in your little house; then think of all the work that must go in to making each of these rooms in the White House look just right. That’s why it’s pretty neat to find out that a woman from Loveland was involved in doing just that!

According to the Reporter Herald, Lovelander Carin Barrett was leader of the team that decorated the official Christmas Tree for the White House, located in the Blue Room! Get out! The Blue Room tree is where all the official pictures of the President, his family and other officials are taken.

From The Reporter Herald:

Barrett applied in the summer to be one of the volunteer decorators — a tradition that dates back to 1973 and President Richard Nixon. Each volunteer pays their own expenses and receives no compensation from the White House.

She is not sure how or why she was chosen from the scores of volunteers but she is thankful for the opportunity to be part of a rich, American tradition.

 Wow. How cool!
