MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Family members of a 6-year-old Georgia girl are demanding that the community of Milledgeville change its policies -- so no other young children wind up being handcuffed and taken to jail. According to a TV station (WMAZ), the girl was accused of tearing items off the walls and throwing furniture in an outburst at her elementary school. Police said she knocked over a shelf and injured the principal -- and that when an officer tried to calm the child, she resisted and was handcuffed. The six-year-old is charged with assault and damage to property.
