A writer for the website Offbeat uses the word 'horrifying' to describe the worst food from each of the 50 states.

Even after eating at Waffle House or Casa Bonita, it's hard to imagine a fare as nauseating as Alaska'sAkutaq - which is whale blubber mixed with berries and served in a bowl.  Why, you ask?  I have no idea.

While everyone in Colorado seems to be dying for an In-'N-Out Burger, we're told there's no such thing as a good experience there, partly because you have to order your food a special way that isn't on the menu to get it halfway decent - so it's the worst stuff in California.

But there's no way that could be as bad as a steamed cheeseburger, which we're told is something people in Connecticut actually eat, like on purpose?  O-kay.

Georgia, also known as Peanut Country, gets way out there with their signature plant, and combines peanuts with Coca-Cola.  That's it.  They put peanuts in their bottle of Coke.  If that happens in my house, a child gets a quick talking to.

Idaho likes to put ice cream on top of a baked potato.  So, in case you were wondering who will be next to legalize marijuana...

The Goober Award has to go to Indiana, though - for the brain sandwich.  Looks like a pork tenderloin only mushier.  Mmm mmm mmm.

Considering all of this, Colorado once again looks mighty fine.  The worst food they could come up with from here is shredded wheat, and only because it tastes like nothing.  To this day, the frosted varieties of that are one of my favorite breakfasts.  Right next to nutria, a yellow-toothed rat that apparently tastes delicious to some Louisianans.
