9Health Fair Saves Lives

The 9Health Fair is an institution in Colorado, and similar things take place all over the country, because of the amount of good they do. The low and no-cost health screenings catch many problems in people, oftentimes before they have become life threatening. It is not a place where they will do much to treat problems, but rather in taking the baseline tests of health, blood pressure, temperature, motion, balance, etc, they let us know if something bad is developing. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" seems to be the organizing principle around the 9Health Fair.

It serves as a great reminder that we have to be vigilant about our health. It is a 'Love it or lose it' scenario. In many cases, we don't get second chances with our health. The good news is that there are so many easy ways to stay healthy. Breaking bad habits is often the catalyst to leading us to fuller longer lives.
