As we walk away from the aftermath of "Stormzilla", and the minimal impact it had on Northern Colorado, it did leave an impact on travel at DIA.

I felt that impact directly on Saturday night, as I had family visiting us from the Northeast with their flight arriving at 8:30 that night.

We were one of the few who didn't have travel disrupted over the weekend, with family arriving right on time. (And I do need to take this opportunity commending the staff at DIA for the great job they did at the airport on Saturday. I was VERY impressed.)

However, we got to the airport 2 1/2 hours in advance, meaning we had some time to kill until the arrivals occurred. So what do you do when you are stuck at the airport, with half of the merchants there closed and nothing to do on the outside?

Well you find some of the best places to take a photo opportunity, and you make the best of it. That's what my wife and I did, and even had some of the stranded passengers comment on how they were going to do the same thing before they had to make the way to their terminals.

So here are five of the best photo opportunities that we took while we waiting in the main concourse/baggage claim area. Ever done this before when you were waiting for your guests to arrive? Share your photos with us as well by emailing them here!
