4 Things to Know About Justify and the 2018 Triple Crown Race
My physical therapist Justin attended the Kentucky Derby last month and told me that Justify should win the Triple Crown this year. He said the 3-year-old is huge in stature, is cool, calm and collected and he just stood out among the other horses at the racetrack. Justin's family has been raising racehorses for many years, so I value his opinion.
1. Tomorrow, at the Belmont Stakes, Justify attempts to become the 13th Triple Crown winner. Post time is 4:37 p.m. Mountain Time and it airs on NBC on June 9, 2018.
2. The Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner drew the No. 1 gate for Saturday’s Belmont Stakes. That means jockey Mike Smith is pretty much locked into putting his horse on the lead to avoid getting pinned in.
3. Don't be looking for the white silks, Justify will be sporting red silks with yellow stars.
4. The Weather Channel’s forecast a 40% chance of showers in the early evening. Even though Justify has proven he can handle a wet surface, trainer Bob Baffert said he’d prefer the race to be run on a nice, fast track in cool conditions.
