An Eaton Middle School student was arrested Thursday after bringing a knife to school and making threats against at least one person in the building.

A 13-year-old male was arrested for possession of a lethal weapon and is in custody at the juvenile detention facility awaiting advisement.

Eaton Re-2 School District Superintendent Randy Miller said,

“We are dealing with the student, and he probably won’t be in school for a while, but we have to let the police investigation play out before we can do anything, but we do take it seriously, and we will take the appropriate action.”

He has been detained on one charge of felony unlawful possession of a weapon on school grounds and a separate charge of interfering with staff, faculty or students of an educational facility.
